Maxine Peake Presents Film Marking 100 Years Since 1917

With your help we will produce a unique 30 minute film marking the centenary of the Russian Revolution which will

  • explore the history of the revolution, its impact in Britain, its cultural legacy and its reach world-wide with leading historians, labour movement figures and international perspectives
  • make our historic and visually striking resources - which will illustrate the film - available to wider audiences. These unique archives are held at the Marx Memorial Library, Society for Cooperation in Russian and Soviet Studies and Modern Records Centre, University of Warwick
  • extend the reach of our forthcoming  4 November International Conference and ensure it has a lasting legacy
  • inform and enagage new audiences - including new generations - with the history of the revolution and its continued relevance today

The Russian Revolution Centenary Committee is currently planning this work with leading labour movement film producers, Platform Films and actress Maxine Peake. With your support we can make this happen!

The film will be freely available on our website. The RRCC will arrange dedicated screenings of the film in 2017 and 2018, when it will accompany the Marx Memorial Library’s touring Heritage Lottery Funded exhibition.

How you can help

With your support we will ensure our marking of this once in a lifetime event reaches thousands more. We will mark this monumentally significant moment in the way it should be, and share the legacy of the Russian Revolution with future generations.

Donations of any size are warmly welcomed.

Contributions of £20 or more will receive a DVD. We will also be personally thanking all donors on behalf of the committee. Our target is £3,000. We are confident this can be reached if 150 kindly donate.

Thank you for your support, we would not be able to continue to inspire debate and discussion about the legacy of the revolution and what it means for future generations without the support of our donors, members and friends.
